Tator Tot Hotdish

Oh, I love my Midwestern roots! This is my aunt's recipe. It's a family favorite!

This is a smaller version, so you only need a 8X8 or 9X9 baking dish. It serves 4-6.

Ingredients:
  • Tator Tots (still frozen)
  • 1/2 lb. ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 Can of Cream of Celery (I use the low fat version)

  • 1/2 Cup milk

  • 1/2 Cup whole kernel corn

Directions: Preheat oven to 350 Degrees. Brown the ground beef/turkey. Place in a 8X8 or 9X9 baking dish. Mix in Cream of Celery, milk, and corn. Smooth out the top. Cover with the Tator Tots. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven. Enjoy!

What's YOUR favorite family recipe? Please do tell in the comments and if you have a link, even better!

I contribute to another site every week. I post recipes, mostly for potluck functions, there and did one that was a tater tot casserole. It was a little different, though. Here is the link.

This is my all-time favorite comfort food. I posted this one too. Just thought I would share, hope you don't mind. ;-)

Tator Tot Casserole is a mainstay at our house! But I use frozen broccoli and cauliflower instead of corn. One of my friends always used green beans!

Here's another one of our favorites: Carolina Pulled Pork

Hey, thanks for swinging by today to my new blog!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Here's a link from a recipe I posted a long while back for my family's meatloaf. I love midwest food, too!

We do that casserole too, but we don't use corn, instead we use green beans!
I've also had variety by using frozen french fries instead of tots, or adding whatever canned or frozen veggies on hand (carrots, peas, whatever!)
I also think I use cream of mushroom soup instead of celery.... so maybe my recipe is more different than I though originally!?

Oh Sweetie...
What time is dinner, because I will be there with a loaf of fresh bread? I am so lovin this casserole. Looks yummy and I am under the weather, and it looks like just the thing the Dr. would order. Love it. Sounds so wonderful about now.

I like dishes like this, so when you have worked hard all day, you can come home throw it together, go change and let your hair down for a few minutes. Isn't that devine? I am lovin it.

I am so tickled at the comments you leave about my blog. I am on a computer all day, every day for my work. I develop on-line courses so this gives you an idea as to where my bling comes in. I can decorate however I want, not how someone else wants it to be. I am in constraints at work, but at home I get to have fun. That is why I change alot and make things new. I just love playing, and I am so happy that you like to stop by.

The one thing I would like to give to people when they come to visit is a "Happy Heart" as then I know my job is being filled. Thank you for being such a wonderful friend. I cherish that sweetie.

Country hugs and much love, Sherry

My favorite family recipe will be on Menu Plan Monday, so you'll have to wait. We LOVE tatertot hotdish--guess what's going on the menu in a couple of weeks?

I can't let my husband see this, he would be packing his bags an moving in with you! For some reason he is obsessed with tator tot hotdish but I have never made it for him. Not sure why, probably because I am not a fan of mixing foods. But now that you reminded me I am definitely going to try it out! I am making this one too, love the smaller pan version! :)

I have never tried this! It looks great, and so easy. Perfect for us. Hmmm, has me wondering if it's anything like Shepherd's pie. That's so good too.

Oh yum! You've reminded me of an old family favorite....and sparked a craving too! I have not had this in years, and I don't think I've ever added corn. Nice touch! I'm adding it to my menu rotation! :)

I live in the midwest, but have never had this. We like potato casserole. It's frozen hash browns, sour cream, cream of mushroom soup, shredded cheese and corn flakes on top.
