Mama Guilt Mondays

Do YOU have anything you feel guilty about come Monday mornings? Are you a SAHM who has to focus on the tasks at hand? A WAHM who has to make time to get some work done? A mama who works outside the home, like me, who feels guilty going to work? Please do share/vent/get it off your mind in the comments section or do your own post and link back here.

Here's my Mama Guilt list:

1. We skipped church yesterday. I know, it was because we were running around all day Saturday and I wanted some family time, but still.

2. In my absent mindedness, I sent Sprout to preschool in GREEN on Tuesday. However, I realized this weekend that THURSDAY was GREEN day! Ugh! (Yes, I'm still holding on to that one.)

3. I'm off today and I'm still sending the kids to day care so I can thoroughly clean the house, return some items to the store, and get my hair cut. (I know, Bad Mommy!)

4. I can hear Cubbie talking in his crib as I write this and I still haven't got him up!

Whew, that feels better! Thanks for listening. Like I said, feel free to do the same in the comments section, or if you would rather do your own post and just link back here, you can do that too!

Mama Guilt abounds! :)
Mainly this week for seeing that Grandma was letting our little one do something that made me nervous.. I buried my fears instead of speaking up b/c said G-ma tells me I'm "overprotective". Then, *BAM*, dear daughter falls off the chair! AAH! All was OK, but there's a reason that mother's intuition is what it is. Shoulda spoke up...

Guilt is an enemy...all it does is eat at your mind and soul. Do your best and rest on that best!

@ SillyHille - glad your little girl is ok!

@ JW - Exactly! That's why I started "Mama Guilt Monday", so moms could have a place to come vent their Mama Guilt and get if off their minds!

I could go on and on w/ my guilt list, but I won't bore you with it. My guilt comes from saying I'm gonna do it and not getting it done. Darn kitchen floors were supposed to be done yesterday, and I just didn't feel like it, so I would do it today and here I sit and they still aren't done. I promise they will be done tomorrow.
My daughter is slacking in school and I feel guilty that I'm working so much and I've just not checked up as much as I used to. She's 14 and should be able to do it herself, but a moms job to make sure it's done. Now we have catch up to do. Taking a small break seems to equal triple the work anymore.

Oh.. how I know how you feel. Working outside the home and feeling I am always rushing to have everything prefect I so often realize I am not giving the time needed to my girls. Also having had a baby not that long ago with another who is 11, I feel horrible for the oldest who ends up not having as much ME time as she used to. I kee on praying for more time, quality time with both together and separately!

Oh the working mom's guilt - I feel it daily (or week-daily I guess) and now I have the added guilt of having made some very bad career choices in the last couple of years and having put my family in a potential bad spot financially....oh yay for guilt....I will definitely be back next week to play along (if you do this again next week!!)
